How to Verify Your Identity

To keep Nigeria Property Centre safe for everyone, every agent, landlord and developer verifies their identity before listing a property or paying for a plan. It only takes a few minutes, and once it's done you can start advertising straight away.

What you'll need

  • Your NIN or BVN, or one of these original documents: an international passport, a driver's licence or a national ID card.
  • A phone or computer with a camera, for a quick selfie.
  • A well-lit place, so your face and document are clear.

How to verify your identity

  1. Sign in to your account and go to Account → Verification.
  2. Under Identity Verification, choose how you'd like to verify. Verifying with your NIN or BVN is the fastest option, as no document is needed.
  3. Check that the account details shown are yours, tick This is my account and I'm verifying it for myself, then select Continue.
  4. Follow the steps on screen: enter your number or take a photo of your document, then take a selfie.
  5. That's it. Our team reviews your details, usually within a few hours during our working hours (Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm), and we'll email you as soon as it's done. You don't need to stay on the page.

Tips for a smooth verification

  • Use your own ID. The ID you verify with is linked to this account permanently, so it must belong to the person who owns the account.
  • Make sure the name on your account matches the name on your ID.
  • Use the original document, not a photocopy, a laminated copy, a screenshot or a photo of an ID on another screen.
  • Take your photos in good light and keep the document flat, so every detail can be read.

Voter's cards and temporary driver's licences can't be used, so please choose one of the options above.

Your verification attempts

Each account has 3 verification attempts, so take a moment to check everything before you submit. If you use all three, our team will review your account and email you about what happens next.

Please keep your account safe

Only verify an account that is yours. If someone has given you login details and asked you to verify an account for a job or a task, please don't continue. Let us know instead, and we'll look into it.

What happens next
